Research revealed that Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is the third leading cause of death worldwide, with exacerbations being the primary driver of hospitalizations and fatalities. In the Netherlands, where Philips was seeking to reduce hospitalization costs and shift preventative care into the home, I designed a two-part kit to support patients. The kit guides users through the right actions during an exacerbation, helping prevent hospital visits and improving patient outcomes.
